How a B2B call script is put together
A good telecalling script in Hindi should sound like a polite person from a real business, not like a recorded advert. This one is for B2B calls to a shop, a clinic or a factory, and it has five parts: the opener, the reason for calling, one question, answers to the usual objections, and a close that asks for a meeting. Each key line is given in Hindi first, then in English, so you can use whichever the other person speaks.
- Follow their language. Open in the language people in that city use for business, then switch to whatever they reply in. Mixed Hindi and English is normal on business calls.
- Use आप and जी. "Gupta ji" works with a trader of any age; first names do not.
A telecalling script in Hindi for a packaging supplier
The example is for Neha, who sells printed pouches for Shubh Packaging in Indore and calls namkeen and spice makers across Madhya Pradesh. Swap in your own product, city and customers. A male caller changes the verb endings: रही becomes रहा, लूँगी becomes लूँगा, दूँगी becomes दूँगा, and गई becomes गया.
The opener
("Hello, this is Neha from Shubh Packaging, Indore. Am I speaking to Mr Gupta?")
("I'll only take two minutes. Is this a good time to talk?")
The reason for calling
Here is a short sales pitch example. It gives one reason that matters to this buyer and leaves out the company's history, machines and awards.
("We make printed pouches for namkeen and spice makers. Several factories in Ratlam and Ujjain buy their pouches from us.")
The question
("Where do you buy your pouches now, and roughly how many do you use a month?")
- If you have reached the wrong person: ("Who handles packaging purchases at your company?")
Then stop talking and listen.
Answers to the objections you will hear
Every cold calling script needs answers ready for the same handful of replies. Keep each one short and end it with a question.
("I don't have time now.") ("No problem. Would eleven tomorrow morning suit you, or four in the evening?")
("We already have a supplier.") ("Of course. Before your next order, just compare our rate once. Shall I send a sample?")
("Your rate must be high.") ("It depends on size and quantity. Tell me both, and I'll send a written rate by this evening.")
("Send the details on WhatsApp.") ("Sure, to this number. May I call the day after tomorrow, once you've had a look?")
("The boss is out.") ("No problem. When is he usually in? And may I have your name, so I can ask for you next time?")
("Not interested.") ("All right. Shall I call once after three months, or take your number off my list?")
If they ask you to remove the number, do it before you dial the next one.
Closing for a meeting
("I'm in Ratlam on Thursday. Shall I bring samples to your factory, at eleven in the morning or three in the afternoon?")
("So Thursday at eleven it is. May I WhatsApp you on this number to confirm the address?")
Offer two times instead of asking "when are you free?". The second line also asks permission before you message them on WhatsApp, which WhatsApp's business rules expect; our guide to WhatsApp marketing for B2B explains why.
Calling within the rules
A script does not change the law. Before any promotional call, check the number against the National Customer Preference Register, the DND list set up under TRAI's regulations; our DND check guide shows how. Give your name and company at the start of every call, never pretend to be a customer or a government office, and stop when someone asks you to.
The script also works only on the right numbers. Starleads has 6,318 ready lists across 140 industries and 467 cities, and each shows 60 real contacts free, so you can check the trade and the city before you buy. To plan the week around these calls, use the 7-day calling plan.
Questions people ask
Should telecallers read the script word for word?
No. Read it aloud ten times, then put it away and say it in your own words. Keep the written answers beside you for the objections you forget under pressure.
Should I open in Hindi or in English?
Follow the region and the trade. Traders in Hindi-speaking states usually reply in Hindi or a mix, while in Bengaluru, Chennai or Kolkata it is safer to open in English unless you speak the local language. When unsure, greet in English and switch as soon as they do.
