A beauty parlour and salon list, city by city

People looking for a beauty parlour list or salon contact numbers are almost always selling something to salons: hair and skin products, equipment, software, training or a franchise. What they need is the salons' names, phone numbers and addresses, sorted by city and area so a sales team or a distributor can work through them. That is what Starleads sells: a beauty parlours and salons list for each big city and state, with spas and gyms as separate lists.

India's salon trade is large and mostly independent. A few chains and franchise brands, such as Lakmé Salon, Naturals, Green Trends, Jawed Habib, Enrich and Looks, have outlets in many cities. But most of the trade is the neighbourhood: women's beauty parlours run from a shop or a room at home, men's hair cutting saloons, unisex salons, bridal makeup studios, nail and lash studios, and spas. Many are run by the owner with two or three staff.

What registers exist, and what they miss

There is no national register of salons. A salon usually needs a registration under its state's Shops and Establishments Act, a trade licence from the municipal corporation in many cities, and GST registration once its turnover crosses the threshold. None of these is published as a searchable list with phone numbers.

Two other bodies touch the trade. The Beauty and Wellness Sector Skill Council sets training standards and certifies beauticians and stylists through approved training partners. And on the product side, cosmetics are regulated under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the Cosmetics Rules, 2020: cosmetics must be made under a licence, and imported cosmetics need registration with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO). If you sell your own brand of products to salons, have that paperwork ready, because larger salons and chains ask for it.

Map listings and booking apps show many salons, but they mix in closed outlets and personal freelancers, and they are slow to work through one by one. A ready list saves that step, though no list of small businesses is ever complete or fully current.

Our beauty parlours and salons data

The Beauty Parlours & Salons list has 96,124 parlours, salons and barber shops in 96 cities. 88% have a mobile number and 97% an address; 78% name the locality, which makes it easy to plan visits area by area. Only 17% have an email address, so this is a list for calling and visiting more than for email. The same data is sold as 40 city lists and 16 state lists.

Who sells to beauty parlours and salons

  • Professional product distributors: hair colour, keratin and smoothening treatments, shampoos for salon use, facial and skin kits, waxes and nail products.
  • Equipment and furniture sellers: styling chairs, wash stations, hood dryers, steamers, wax heaters, sterilisers and facial machines, and interior fit-out for new salons.
  • Consumables: disposable towels, sheets, gloves, foils, cotton and tools.
  • Software and payments: appointment booking with WhatsApp reminders, billing, staff commission tracking, and card and UPI payment terminals.
  • Training academies offering staff courses, and franchise brands recruiting salon owners to convert.
  • Local services: laundry for towels, uniforms, marketing agencies that manage map listings and Instagram pages, and small business lenders.

Salons buy small and often, so suppliers think in routes, not single orders. A distributor who covers one city area by area, with a monthly visit to each salon, usually does better than one who calls the whole city once.

How to approach a salon owner

  1. Call when the chairs are empty. Evenings, weekends and the festival and wedding seasons are busy. Weekday late mornings and early afternoons are usually quieter, and many salons have a weekly off day; note it when you learn it.
  2. Ask for the owner. In most parlours the owner buys; in chains, a regional or purchase manager does.
  3. Offer a demo or a trial, not a catalogue. For example: "Hello, I'm calling from a salon products distributor in Pune. We supply professional hair colour and keratin kits to salons in Kothrud and Baner with next-day delivery, and our trainer can run a free colour session for your staff. Would a Tuesday afternoon suit you?"
  4. Be ready for their questions: price per service, how many services a pack gives, shelf life, credit for repeat orders, and whether you will take back slow-moving stock.
  5. Follow up in person. A short visit with samples does more than a third call. Use WhatsApp for catalogues only after the owner agrees.

Many salon numbers are the owner's personal mobile, so check the DND rules first. Our telecalling scripts in Hindi and English and cold calling tips help with the call itself, and the WhatsApp marketing guide covers follow-ups.

Questions people ask

Can I get beauty parlour contact numbers for one area of a city?

Buy the city list and filter the locality and pin code columns. To combine several cities or towns, use the list builder.

Does the list include men's salons and barber shops?

Yes. Men's, women's and unisex salons and hair cutting saloons are all included, and the category column or the specialisation lists above separate them.

How many salons are there in India?

No official count exists, because most salons are small and register only locally. Our own file has 96,124, which is a sample of the trade in larger cities rather than a census.

Is it allowed to call salons from a purchased list?

The DND rules follow the number, not who owns it, so a salon owner's mobile on the DND register is protected like anyone else's. Promotional calls should go through a registered telemarketer and promotional SMS through DLT, which our DND guide linked above explains. Keep calls to business hours, and stop calling anyone who asks you to.
