Electronics companies in India: manufacturers list

The electronics clusters, the schemes behind them, and a manufacturers list with contacts.

Electronics companies in India, and where they are

A list of electronics companies in India covers several kinds of business that rarely meet. Global phone and appliance brands assemble in India; contract manufacturers such as Dixon Technologies, Kaynes Technology and Syrma SGS build products and boards for other brands; Bharat Electronics (BEL) and private firms make defence and aerospace electronics; and electrical companies such as Havells, Polycab, Siemens, ABB India and Schneider Electric make switchgear, cables, motors and automation products. Around them are thousands of smaller makers of panels, transformers, power supplies, LED lighting, wires and components.

The work clusters in a few places:

  • Noida and Greater Noida, one of the country's largest mobile phone manufacturing belts, with Samsung's plant and many contract manufacturers and component suppliers around it.
  • The Chennai belt, from Sriperumbudur and Oragadam outwards, where phone assembly for global brands sits alongside appliance and component plants.
  • Bengaluru, with Electronics City, chip design and embedded engineering teams, and defence electronics; Hosur and the area towards Kolar have large electronics plants too.
  • Pune, Faridabad, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, strong in electrical equipment and industrial electronics, and Gujarat's Sanand and Dholera, where the first semiconductor projects are being built.

Starleads sells the Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers list, by city and state, for anyone who sells to these firms or buys from them.

The schemes and bodies behind the industry

Much of the recent growth follows government policy run by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The production linked incentive (PLI) schemes pay companies a share of their extra sales for making in India: one for mobile phones and specified components, one for IT hardware such as laptops, tablets and servers, and one for air conditioner and LED light components. A newer scheme supports electronic components, and the India Semiconductor Mission backs chip fabrication and packaging plants in Gujarat and Assam. Scheme rules and approved lists change, so check MeitY's website for the current position.

Three other sources help when you research the trade:

  • BIS registration. Many electronic products, from adapters and LED lamps to lithium-ion batteries, must be registered under the BIS Compulsory Registration Scheme, and the registration records show which factory holds a registration for a product.
  • E-waste rules. The E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 put extended producer responsibility on makers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment, who register with the Central Pollution Control Board.
  • Industry bodies and fairs. IEEMA represents electrical equipment makers and runs ELECRAMA; ELCINA and the India Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) speak for electronics makers; electronica India is a large components and production fair.

Our electrical and electronics manufacturers list

The Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers list has 46,367 firms in 294 cities and towns. It leans towards electrical and industrial products, such as switchgear, cables, panels, transformers, motors, generators and industrial inverters, alongside electronics makers and component dealers. 82% name a contact person, 50% have a mobile number and 72% an email address, so email and office landlines matter more here than in a shop list. Firms move, merge and change numbers, so treat the file as a starting point and check the free sample first.

Electronics and appliance stores

For brands and distributors selling finished products, the shops are the other side of the trade:

Who sells to electronics makers

  • Component makers and distributors: semiconductors, passives, connectors, relays, displays, batteries, wire harnesses and enclosures.
  • PCB fabricators and EMS firms looking for brands that want boards or whole products made.
  • Raw material suppliers: copper and aluminium, plastic granules, steel sheet for panels, and packaging.
  • Machine and tool sellers: SMT lines, soldering and rework stations, testing and measuring equipment, coil winding and cable processing machines.
  • Testing labs and consultants helping with BIS registration, e-waste EPR and export certification.
  • Freight forwarders and customs brokers, since many components are imported.
  • Buyers: retailers, distributors and private-label brands looking for a maker. Our manufacturing companies guide covers the wider factory market.

Reaching the right person

  1. Find the buyer. In a small firm the owner decides. In larger ones, the purchase manager buys parts and the engineering or R&D head decides which part goes into a design. Our purchase manager guide explains how to reach them.
  2. Lead with capability and proof. For example: "Good morning, I'm calling from a PCB assembly company in Noida. We assemble batches of 500 to 5,000 boards with a two-week turnaround and full test reports. Do you outsource any board assembly at the moment?"
  3. Expect technical questions: certifications such as ISO 9001, or IATF 16949 for automotive work, sample lead time, minimum order, traceability and payment terms.
  4. Follow up by email with a one-page capability sheet; our cold email templates adapt well.

Before calling, check the DND rules, especially for mobile numbers.

Questions people ask

Which is the largest electronics company in India?

It depends on whether you count brands, contract manufacturers or electrical firms, and the figures change every year. Listed companies publish revenue in their annual reports; we do not rank companies.

Can I get only electronics makers in Noida or Chennai?

Pick the city list above where it exists, then filter the category column. To combine several cities, use the list builder.

Does the list include AC, battery and inverter makers?

Some makers list themselves here. Dealers of those products have their own lists; see our AC guide and battery, inverter and UPS guide.
