Chandigarh and the Tricity: what a company list covers
Chandigarh is a Union Territory and the shared capital of Punjab and Haryana. In business terms it works as one market with Mohali (SAS Nagar) in Punjab and Panchkula in Haryana, together called the Tricity, so a list of companies in Chandigarh that stops at the city's borders misses much of the trade. Job seekers will do better on company careers pages; this guide is for businesses looking for buyers and suppliers. The parts that matter to a seller:
- Industrial Area Phase I and Phase II: Chandigarh's own industrial sectors, with small units in light engineering, electrical goods, printing, food and pharma, which now share space with car showrooms, offices, warehouses and a large mall.
- The IT Park: the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park on the eastern edge near Manimajra, with IT and back-office companies.
- Mohali: numbered industrial area phases with engineering, electronics, tractor and pharma units, among them the Swaraj tractor works and the government's Semi-Conductor Laboratory, plus IT City and offices along the airport road, and large private hospitals.
- Panchkula: industrial area phases of its own, many Haryana government offices, and a growing set of offices and showrooms.
- Services and trade: Sector 17's shopping plaza, the wholesale markets of Sector 26, the High Court and the Punjab and Haryana secretariats, PGIMER and Panjab University, and a very large number of coaching, IELTS and immigration consultancy firms.
Beyond the Tricity, Zirakpur and Derabassi on the highway to Ambala add warehouses and pharma, chemical and engineering units. Baddi, across the border in Himachal Pradesh, is one of India's biggest pharma manufacturing clusters, and many Tricity suppliers serve its plants.
Free sources for Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula firms
- Three administrations: the Chandigarh Administration's industries department for the UT, Punjab's industrial bodies (PSIEC among them) for Mohali, and Haryana's (HSIIDC among them) for Panchkula. Each covers only its own side of the border, and none publishes a contact list.
- Chambers and associations: CII's northern region office is in Chandigarh, and Mohali and Panchkula have their own industry associations. Member lists mostly stay with members.
- MCA, GST and Udyam look-ups confirm a firm's status one name at a time. The first two digits of a GSTIN show where a Tricity firm is registered: 04 for Chandigarh, 03 for Punjab and 06 for Haryana, which helps when addresses blur across the border.
- Old PDFs and directories of "Chandigarh industries" are mostly years old and seldom include Mohali or Panchkula.
Our guide to MCA and GST look-ups explains each check.
Our Chandigarh business directory and lists
The Chandigarh Business Directory holds 69,134 businesses. 82% have a mobile number and 33% an email address, and 95% carry a postal address. The list page shows 60 real rows and a free Excel sample, and the full file costs ₹499.
Areas with the most entries
- Mohali: 4,625 in the file
- Panchkula: 3,025 in the file
- Chandigarh Gpo: 1,590 in the file
- Manimajra: 1,486 in the file
- Zirakpur Ho: 1,287 in the file
- Sas Nagar: 1,106 in the file
- Zirakpur: 999 in the file
- Mani Majra: 985 in the file
The area list shows how far this file reaches into Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur, so treat it as a Tricity file. Filter on the city column to split it; PIN codes alone do not always separate Chandigarh from Mohali.

Who buys a Chandigarh company list
- Packaging, excipient and chemical traders, and lab, calibration and validation firms serving pharma plants in Baddi, Derabassi and Mohali. Our pharma companies guide covers the trade nationally.
- Software, cloud and HR tool sellers chasing the IT Park and Mohali's IT offices.
- Medical equipment and lab suppliers for the hospitals and diagnostic centres of all three cities.
- Ad agencies, CRM sellers and office space providers for the coaching and immigration consultancies.
- Cement, steel, tile and fittings dealers selling to builders in Mohali, Zirakpur, Kharar and New Chandigarh.
- FMCG and electronics distributors who use the Tricity as a base for Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
Working a Chandigarh list
- Cut it by side. Chandigarh's sectors, Mohali's phases and sectors, Panchkula, and the highway towns of Zirakpur and Derabassi. Sector and phase numbers make it easy to plan visits by block.
- Mix English with Punjabi or Hindi. Offices and the IT Park run in English, owners and traders are at ease in Punjabi or Hindi. For example: "Good morning, this is Harpreet from a carton maker in Industrial Area Phase II. We deliver printed cartons to pharma units in Baddi and Derabassi twice a week. Who buys packaging at your plant?"
- Go through the vendor process. Government departments, PGIMER and the public sector units buy through tenders and GeM, and pharma plants audit new suppliers before the first order, so keep your documents ready.
- Mind the calendar. Lohri, Baisakhi and Diwali slow work for a few days each, and dense winter fog in December and January delays road deliveries to Baddi and the plains.
- Follow the rules. Check numbers against the DND rules before promotional calls or SMS.
Questions people ask
Which are the industrial areas in and around Chandigarh?
Industrial Area Phase I and II in Chandigarh, Mohali's numbered industrial phases, and Panchkula's industrial area. Further out, Derabassi and Lalru in Punjab and the Baddi belt in Himachal Pradesh hold larger pharma and engineering plants.
Are Mohali and Panchkula part of Chandigarh?
No. Mohali is in Punjab and Panchkula in Haryana, while Chandigarh is a Union Territory. The three run into each other and are treated as one market, the Tricity, but each registers businesses, collects GST and runs its industrial estates separately.
How many companies are there in Chandigarh?
No single register counts every business, because MCA records only companies and LLPs while most firms are proprietorships or partnerships. Our Chandigarh directory alone holds 69,134 businesses, including many from the wider Tricity, and it still misses many small shops.
