What a list of companies in Delhi really covers
Ask a job seeker for a list of companies in Delhi and you will hear about head offices in Connaught Place, Nehru Place and Aerocity. Ask a seller and the answer is the bazaars and the industrial areas, because Delhi is first of all a trading city that stocks shops across much of north India:
- Wholesale markets: Chandni Chowk for fabrics and wedding wear, Khari Baoli for spices and dry fruits, Sadar Bazaar for household goods, toys and stationery, Chawri Bazar for paper and wedding cards, Bhagirath Palace for electrical goods and medicines, Kashmere Gate for auto parts, Gandhi Nagar for readymade garments, Tank Road for jeans, Nehru Place and Lajpat Rai Market for computers and electronics, Kirti Nagar for furniture, and Azadpur for fruit and vegetables.
- Industrial areas: Okhla for garment exporters, printers and offices, Naraina, Mayapuri, Wazirpur for stainless steel, Patparganj and Jhilmil, and the DSIIDC estates at Bawana and Narela, where many units moved when industry had to leave residential areas.
- Offices and government: Connaught Place, Barakhamba Road, Nehru Place, Jasola, Saket and Aerocity hold corporate and regional offices, while central ministries and public sector head offices buy through GeM and tenders.
- Services: travel agents and budget hotels in Paharganj and Karol Bagh, coaching institutes in Mukherjee Nagar and Laxmi Nagar, and hospitals, CA firms, exporters and online sellers all over the city.
Decide whether you are selling into a bazaar, an industrial area or an office before you go looking for data. In Delhi they behave like three different cities.
Official and free Delhi sources
- MCA master data lists companies and LLPs, one search at a time. Delhi has a great many registered companies, but the family firms of Old Delhi's bazaars mostly trade as proprietors or partners, and they are not in it.
- DSIIDC (the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation) develops and maintains industrial estates such as Bawana and Narela. It does not hand out unit-wise contacts.
- FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM and PHDCCI all have their headquarters in Delhi. They are good for events and policy news; member contacts stay with members.
- Market associations: nearly every bazaar has a traders' association with a president and a committee. They know every shop but rarely publish a list.
- GeM shows government buyers' bids, which helps if you sell to ministries, but it is not a business directory.
Our guide to company, GST and Udyam look-ups helps you confirm a firm before you trade with it.

Calling Delhi businesses without wasting days
- Hindi first. Delhi does business in Hindi and Hinglish, Punjabi is common in many trading families, and English suits offices. Open simply: "Namaste ji, main Rohit, Ludhiana ki ek hosiery company se bol raha hoon. Kya aap naye brands ka maal rakhte hain?" (I am Rohit from a hosiery company in Ludhiana; do you stock new brands?) Our Hindi and English calling script has more lines.
- Know the weekly off. Each Delhi market has a fixed closing day. Old Delhi's wholesale bazaars shut on Sunday, while Karol Bagh and Lajpat Nagar close on Monday. Check before you plan a round of visits.
- Call wholesalers at the right hour. Old Delhi traders open late in the morning and are busiest through the afternoon. A call soon after opening, or in the evening as the rush eases, gets more attention.
- Plan for the seasons. The wedding months from about November to February are peak time for textile, jewellery and gift traders, so they have less time for new suppliers then, and Diwali stock is bought weeks in advance.
- Follow the rules. Promotional calls and SMS must respect the DND register.
Delhi list questions
Does the Delhi list include Gurgaon and Noida?
No. The Delhi lists cover the National Capital Territory only. Gurgaon is in Haryana and Noida in Uttar Pradesh, so each has its own lists: see our guides to companies in Gurgaon and companies in Noida. Faridabad and Ghaziabad are separate too.
Where are the industrial areas in Delhi?
Okhla and the Mohan Cooperative estate in the south, Naraina, Mayapuri and Kirti Nagar in the west, Wazirpur, Lawrence Road and Badli in the north-west, Patparganj and Jhilmil in the east, and Bawana and Narela on the northern edge.
Is there a companies in Delhi list in PDF?
Old trade directories and fair catalogues circulate as PDFs, but they are hard to sort and many numbers no longer work. A spreadsheet you can filter by area and trade saves days of dialling dead numbers.
