Manufacturing companies in Pune, MIDC by MIDC
Most people who search for manufacturing companies in Pune, or for a Chakan, Ranjangaon or Bhosari MIDC company list, either want a job in the plants or want to sell to them. This guide is for the second group: suppliers, job workers, service firms and distributors who need Pune's factories as customers. For the city's IT offices, traders and services, see our list of companies in Pune.
Pune's industry sits in a ring of areas run by MIDC, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation, and each belt has its own character:
- Pimpri-Chinchwad and Bhosari: the oldest belt, inside the twin city. Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto grew up here, and Bhosari MIDC is packed with small and mid-sized units doing sheet metal, press parts, machining, fabrication and plating for the vehicle makers and their suppliers.
- Chakan: on the Pune-Nashik highway, developed in several phases, with car and two-wheeler plants such as those of Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Bajaj Auto, and a deep layer of component, plastics, rubber and tooling suppliers around them.
- Talegaon: west of Chakan towards the Mumbai road, with larger plots used by vehicle, appliance and engineering plants.
- Ranjangaon: on the Pune-Ahmednagar road in Shirur taluka, with consumer appliance and car plants and the suppliers that followed them. Sanaswadi and Shikrapur on the same road add many smaller units.
- Kurkumbh and Hadapsar: chemical and pharma units in Kurkumbh MIDC on the Solapur highway, and an older industrial estate at Hadapsar inside the city.
Most units in these belts are small. A large plant may buy from a few hundred suppliers, and each of those has its own vendors for steel, tooling, coatings, packaging and transport, so the market for a seller runs several layers deep.
Free sources for Pune factories, and their limits
- MIDC publishes its industrial areas, plot maps and allotments. That tells you which estates exist and roughly what they hold, but plot records name the original allottee, who is not always the business running there now.
- MCA master data covers companies and LLPs, one name at a time. The proprietors and partnership firms who run most of Bhosari's sheds are not in it.
- GST and Udyam look-ups confirm that a unit is registered and active. Every Maharashtra GSTIN starts with 27, a quick way to spot out-of-state branches.
- MCCIA (the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture), CII's Pune office and the industries associations of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Bhosari and Chakan run events and supplier meets. Their member lists mostly stay with members.
- The District Industries Centre in Pune runs the state's MSME schemes and can tell you which clusters are active, but it is not a directory.
- "Chakan MIDC company list" PDFs turn up in searches. Most were typed from old directories; plants have changed hands since, and few rows have a working mobile number.
Before you give credit to a new customer, our guide to MCA and GST look-ups shows how to check who you are dealing with.
Our list of manufacturing companies in Pune
The Manufacturing Companies in Pune file holds 406 businesses filed under general manufacturing. 100% have a mobile number and 14% an email address, and 50% name a contact person. The list page shows 60 real rows and a free Excel sample, and the full list costs ₹499.
It is a short file, because most Pune units are listed under what they make rather than as "manufacturers". A forging shop sits under steel and metals, a moulder under plastics, a panel builder under electricals. To cover the belts above properly, work through the trade lists below as well.
Few rows in this file carry a full address or PIN code, so ask which MIDC area the unit is in on the first call and note it in your sheet.

Who sells to Pune's manufacturers
- Steel, aluminium, polymer and rubber compound dealers supplying the press shops, moulders and machine shops of Bhosari, Chakan and Talegaon.
- Cutting tool, gauge, die and fixture makers, and CNC machine dealers with their own service teams.
- Job workers in heat treatment, plating, powder coating and painting, who live on orders from the component makers.
- Packaging firms making corrugated boxes, returnable crates and pallets for parts that travel to vehicle plants.
- Contract labour agencies, canteen operators, staff bus operators, and security and housekeeping firms for plants on the city's edge.
- Rooftop solar installers, compressed air specialists, waste handlers, and banks offering working capital to MSME suppliers.
Our manufacturing companies guide covers the other hubs of India, and the guide to manufacturing companies in Bangalore covers Peenya and the KIADB areas.
Selling to Pune plants, step by step
- Work one belt a day. Chakan and Talegaon can share a day; Ranjangaon and Bhosari each need their own. The Pune-Nashik highway through Chakan is slow at shift change.
- Find both doors. At a small unit the owner buys. At a large plant, purchase or supply chain registers new vendors, but the user department (maintenance, quality or production) has to ask for you first.
- Answer what they check. Plants that supply vehicle makers care about IATF 16949 certification, PPAP documents, delivery and rejection rates. An opener that gets there early: "Namaskar, this is Sachin from a powder coating unit in Bhosari. We coat brackets and enclosures for three suppliers in Chakan and collect from your gate twice a week. Who handles job-work orders at your plant?"
- Use the right language. Owners of local units often prefer Marathi, shop floors run in Hindi, and purchase teams at large plants use English.
- Know the calendar. Many plants slow down around Diwali, Ganeshotsav takes over the city for ten days, and vendor approvals and budgets often move near the financial year end in March.
- Follow the rules. Check numbers against the DND rules before promotional calls or SMS, and read our cold calling tips for the first "send me a quotation".
Questions people ask
Which companies are in Chakan MIDC?
Chakan holds the plants of car and two-wheeler makers such as Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Bajaj Auto, and a large number of component, plastics, tooling and logistics firms around them. No public register lists every unit by MIDC area, so a contact list sorted by trade, plus a call to confirm the location, is the practical route.
Where is Ranjangaon MIDC, and what is made there?
Ranjangaon is on the Pune-Ahmednagar road in Shirur taluka. Its larger plants make consumer appliances and cars, with plastics, sheet metal and packaging suppliers nearby.
Is Bhosari MIDC part of Pune?
Bhosari is in Pimpri-Chinchwad, which has its own municipal corporation but lies in Pune district, and its units usually give Pune addresses. In our data, Pimpri-Chinchwad businesses are part of the Pune lists rather than a list of their own.
How many manufacturing companies are there in Pune?
No single register gives a figure: MCA counts only companies and LLPs, and Udyam only the MSMEs that registered. Our general manufacturing file has 406 Pune businesses, and the trade lists above add many more units filed under what they make.
