A medical centre for all of western Tamil Nadu

Coimbatore's hospitals serve a much wider area than the city. Patients travel in from Tiruppur, Erode and the Nilgiris, and from Palakkad across the Kerala border. This guide is for the companies that sell to those hospitals and want a hospitals in Coimbatore list to work from. If you are a patient, contact the hospital directly; in an emergency, dial 112, or 108 for an ambulance.

Where the hospitals stand matters when you plan visits:

  • Avinashi Road and Peelamedu: several large multi-speciality and private medical college hospitals, the likeliest to have a purchase department.
  • Trichy Road and Ramanathapuram: more hospitals and nursing homes on the south-eastern side of the city.
  • RS Puram and Gandhipuram: older hospitals, nursing homes and specialist practices close to the centre.
  • Coimbatore Medical College Hospital, the main government hospital, which buys through state channels.
  • Ayurveda hospitals and treatment centres, which buy more like wellness businesses than surgical wards.

What our hospitals in Coimbatore list holds

The Hospitals & Nursing Homes in Coimbatore list has 280 rows. 81% have a landline and 31% a mobile number, while 61% include an email address and 94% a street address. Landlines outnumber mobiles, which is normal for hospitals: the number on record is usually the front office, so plan to be transferred. The list page shows 60 real rows and a free sample before you buy.

It mixes private and general hospitals with nursing homes and some speciality units. Many rows have no category, so judge the type from the name, or from the first call.

Areas with the most businesses in this list

  • Rs Puram: 11
  • Gandhi Puram: 7
  • Ramanathapuram: 7
  • R.S. Puram South S.O: 6
  • Sundarapuram: 5
  • Coimbatore H.O: 4
  • Mettupalayam H.O: 4
  • Peelamedu: 4

Spellings vary, some labels are post office names, and rows can come from towns around the city such as Pollachi or Mettupalayam, so sort by PIN code before planning a route.

More Coimbatore healthcare lists

Many specialists here also keep their own clinics, so the city's other healthcare lists reach people a hospital list misses:

To reach Tiruppur, Erode, Salem and the rest of Tamil Nadu, the Hospitals & Nursing Homes in Tamil Nadu list covers the whole state, Coimbatore included, with 1,742 entries. City and state lists cost ₹499 each.

Other Tamil Nadu cities with a hospital list of their own:

For the whole country, the All-India hospitals list has 23,944 entries, sold as one bulk data file. All our Coimbatore lists are on the Coimbatore page.

Tamil Nadu registers and scheme lists

  • The state health department: private hospitals and clinics in Tamil Nadu register with the health authorities under the state's clinical establishments law. That shows a hospital may operate, not who buys for it.
  • CMCHIS and PM-JAY: Tamil Nadu runs its Chief Minister's health insurance scheme together with Ayushman Bharat and publishes the empanelled hospitals, a quick way to see which Coimbatore hospitals take scheme patients.
  • NABH: the accreditation board's list shows which city hospitals are accredited, a useful filter if you sell quality, infection control or audit services.

These help you check a name. For landlines, mobiles and emails in one calling sheet, you need a list.

Suppliers who call on Coimbatore hospitals

  • Textile firms from the region: bed sheets, towels and drapes from home-textile makers in Karur and Erode, and scrubs, patient gowns and staff uniforms from Tiruppur's garment units.
  • Engineering and utility firms: pumps (a Coimbatore speciality), water treatment and RO plants, DG sets, lifts and electrical maintenance.
  • Medical equipment dealers and biomedical service engineers, who can cover Tiruppur, Erode and the Nilgiris from a Coimbatore base.
  • Pharma and surgical distributors, and diagnostic labs that collect samples from smaller hospitals.
  • Service contractors: biomedical waste operators authorised by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, housekeeping and security agencies, and staffing firms that place nurses.
  • Software firms from the city's IT parks selling billing, pharmacy and lab software.

Government hospitals are a separate route. Coimbatore Medical College Hospital and other state hospitals get most medicines and many supplies through the Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation, which buys by tender. Government buyers also use the Government e-Marketplace, which our GeM registration guide covers.

Getting a meeting with a Coimbatore hospital

  1. Write before you ring. Where a row has an email, send five lines: what you supply, a price range and one hospital you already serve nearby, then call two or three days later.
  2. Expect the front office. Most numbers reach reception, so ask for the administrator, the purchase section or, for equipment, the biomedical engineer, and note the extension.
  3. Speak Tamil first, English for the detail. Hospital administrators switch easily, and Malayalam is useful too with Kerala so close. A sample opening: "Vanakkam, I'm Senthil from a Tiruppur unit that makes scrubs and patient gowns. Who decides on staff uniforms at your hospital, and may I bring samples on Thursday?"
  4. Group visits by road. Give Avinashi Road and Peelamedu one morning, Trichy Road and Ramanathapuram another, and RS Puram with Gandhipuram a third. Towns such as Pollachi and Mettupalayam need a trip of their own.
  5. Avoid Pongal week in mid-January for first meetings, when festival holidays slow office work.
  6. Keep to the rules. Read the DND rules before calling or texting, and give every email a clear way to opt out.

Before you buy: Coimbatore questions

How many hospitals are there in Coimbatore?

No single public count comes with contacts; registrations and empanelment lists each show part of the picture. Our Coimbatore list has 280 hospitals and nursing homes, and the Tamil Nadu list 1,742.

Does the Coimbatore list include Tiruppur?

Mostly not. Tiruppur became a separate district in 2009, so hospitals with a Tiruppur address sit in the Tamil Nadu list; only the odd older address may still say Coimbatore. For a handful of districts only, request a custom list.

Is there a list of hospitals in Coimbatore with email addresses?

Yes: 61% of rows in ours have one. Hospital emails usually reach a general inbox, so name the department in the subject line. Our hospitals list guide explains who decides what inside a hospital, and the Coimbatore companies guide covers the city's other industries.
