IT companies in Delhi: what the search finds, and what it misses

Searches for IT companies in Delhi mostly come from people looking for work, and many of the big campuses they have in mind are in Gurgaon and Noida, not Delhi. Job seekers should use the companies' careers pages and the job portals. This guide is for businesses that sell to Delhi's software, IT service and hardware firms, partner with them, or want to hire one. Our Delhi IT lists, with phone numbers and email addresses, are described below.

Inside Delhi itself the trade has its own map:

  • Nehru Place: Delhi's best-known IT hardware market, where dealers, distributors and repair shops for computers, laptops, printers and networking gear fill a district centre of office blocks, with small software and service firms on the upper floors.
  • Okhla and Jasola: offices of IT service, media and online businesses in the phases of Okhla Industrial Area and the towers of Jasola District Centre.
  • Central and south Delhi: Connaught Place, Barakhamba Road, Saket and the other district centres hold head offices, sales offices and IT consultancies.
  • Government IT suppliers: with central ministries and public sector head offices in the city, many Delhi firms are system integrators, resellers and software houses that sell to government through GeM and tenders.
  • West and east Delhi: small development shops, web studios and computer training institutes, the institutes most visible around Laxmi Nagar.

Free sources for Delhi IT firms

  • STPI registers software exporters through its centres in the capital region. Registration tells you a firm earns from abroad, not who to call.
  • GeM and the Central Public Procurement Portal show which IT products and services government buys and, for many tenders, who won. That is a good way to find active government suppliers, but there are no phone numbers. Our GeM guide explains the seller side.
  • Chambers: CII, FICCI and PHDCCI have their head offices in Delhi and run technology events, and NASSCOM is next door in Noida. Member details stay with members.
  • MCA master data shows a company's status, directors and registered office. Many firms keep a Delhi registered office while their staff sit in Gurgaon or Noida, so MCA addresses overstate Delhi. Our guide to company and GST look-ups shows how to search.
  • Market lists: shop lists for Nehru Place circulate, but shops change hands and numbers often.

Our Delhi IT lists, and which one to buy

Delhi addresses are written two ways, "Delhi" and "New Delhi", so there are two files. The IT & Software Companies in Delhi list takes in the whole of Delhi, New Delhi addresses included: 11,184 businesses, 88% with a mobile number and 46% with an email address. For most sellers that is the file to start with.

The IT & Software Companies in New Delhi list holds the 1,280 firms that give New Delhi as their city. 99% have an email address, 7% a mobile number and 87% an office landline, and 73% give the contact's designation. With so few mobiles, treat it as an email-first list for offices: write to the right role, then ring the landline.

Each list page shows sixty real rows and offers a free Excel sample, and a city or state list costs ₹499. Hardware dealers sit beside software firms in both files, so sort on the Category column first. Few rows fill the area column, so search the address column for "Nehru Place", "Okhla" or "Jasola" to pull out each cluster. Numbers change as firms move, so test a sample of your segment before a big campaign.

Other Delhi lists around the IT trade

For the whole country there is the All-India IT list of 73,762 businesses, sold as bulk data. Every other New Delhi list is on the New Delhi page.

Gurgaon and Noida have files of their own; see our guides to IT companies in Gurgaon and IT companies in Noida.

Who sells to Delhi's IT firms

  • Brand distributors and importers supplying Nehru Place dealers with laptops, components, printers and networking gear.
  • Bid consultants, GeM onboarding help, and banks offering the guarantees that government tenders ask for.
  • Office space in Okhla, Jasola and Saket, and the interior and facility firms that run it.
  • Cybersecurity, cloud and software licence resellers, and data backup services.
  • Recruiters, training institutes and CA firms handling GST, payroll and audits.

How to approach IT companies in Delhi

  1. Separate dealers from developers. A Nehru Place dealer wants stock, rates and credit days; a software firm in Okhla wants services and references. Write one pitch for each.
  2. Write to the role. Where the file gives designations, address the director, IT head or admin manager by title. Our cold email templates help with the wording.
  3. Keep the call short. For example: "Good morning, this is Rohit from a cloud backup firm in Jasola. We back up servers and laptops for software offices in Okhla and Nehru Place, and restore lost files within a day. Who looks after IT at your office?" Our cold calling tips cover what comes next.
  4. Visit by cluster. Nehru Place, Okhla and Jasola are close together in south Delhi and fit into one day; the Violet Line metro links Nehru Place and Jasola.
  5. Watch the year-end. Firms that sell to government are often busiest in the last weeks of the financial year, so pitch them in the quieter months.
  6. Follow the rules. Read the DND rules before promotional calls or SMS.
