Pharma and biotech companies in Bangalore

Bangalore's pharma trade looks different from Hyderabad's or Mumbai's. The city is better known for biotech and research than for bulk drug plants: biotech and biopharma companies, research centres of life sciences firms, contract research labs and university institutes sit alongside formulation units, Ayurvedic and herbal medicine makers, pharma distributors and a large number of homeopathic pharmacies. Most people who search for pharma companies in Bangalore want them as customers, to sell lab equipment, packaging, raw materials or services.

Our Pharma & Chemical Companies in Bengaluru list has 523 entries, with 60 real rows and a free Excel sample on the list page. What is in it, and the related lists for the city, are described below.

Where they work, from Peenya to Electronic City

  • Electronic City and Hosur Road. Biotech companies, research labs and their suppliers on the south-eastern side, close to the KIADB industrial areas of Bommasandra and Jigani, which hold pharma, chemical and engineering units.
  • Peenya. The large industrial area in the north-west, mostly engineering, with pharma, chemical and process equipment firms among its units.
  • The old market area. Chickpet, Sultanpet and Chamrajpet, where pharma distributors and chemical traders work from crowded lanes near the city centre.
  • Residential areas. Jayanagar, Rajajinagar, JP Nagar and Banashankari, with homeopathic pharmacies and small Ayurvedic and herbal makers.
  • Research institutes and offices. Institutes such as IISc and NCBS, and the corporate and research offices of life sciences companies in Whitefield and along the Outer Ring Road.

Each group buys differently. A biotech lab wants instruments, reagents and cold chain; a formulation unit wants packaging and machine spares; a homeopathic pharmacy buys glass vials, globules and mother tinctures.

Free sources on Bangalore pharma companies

  • The Drugs Control Department of Karnataka licenses drug makers and sellers in the state; Ayurvedic makers hold licences from the state's AYUSH licensing authority instead. A licence confirms a business is legitimate, not who buys there.
  • CDSCO, the national regulator, publishes approvals and notices, among them the revised Schedule M manufacturing rules. It is not a directory.
  • BIRAC, set up by the Department of Biotechnology to fund biotech companies, and the city's bioincubators show which start-ups are being backed.
  • KIADB, the state's industrial areas board, runs many of the estates. Knowing a unit's estate helps you plan visits, but the board is not a source of contacts.
  • MCA master data and the GST search confirm a company's legal name, status and registered office, one company at a time.

All of these confirm that a company exists. None gives you a purchase manager's mobile number, or a file you can sort by area.

Our list of pharma companies in Bangalore

The Pharma & Chemical Companies in Bengaluru list holds 523 businesses. 99% come with a mobile number and 70% with a contact person's name, while 30% have an email address. Mobiles outnumber emails here, so plan to call first and collect the right email on the call. A city list costs ₹499.

It mixes pharmaceutical companies and distributors, homeopathic pharmacies, process equipment makers and raw material suppliers, and 98% of rows have a category, so one filter keeps only the kind you sell to. There is no separate biotech list: biotech firms appear where they describe themselves as pharma, and for a wider set you can ask for a custom list.

Pharma lists for other cities

Who sells to Bangalore's pharma and biotech firms

  • Lab instruments and service: HPLC and analytical instruments, biosafety cabinets, incubators, freezers, and the calibration and repair contracts that follow. Our lab equipment suppliers guide covers that trade.
  • Reagents and consumables: chemicals, culture media, plasticware and single-use items, often wanted at short notice.
  • Cold chain: dry ice, refrigerated transport and temperature-logged couriers for samples and biologics.
  • Facilities: cleanroom panels, HVAC, purified water systems and validation services.
  • Packaging and raw materials for formulation units and Ayurvedic makers, and vials, bottles and labels for homeopathic pharmacies.
  • People and services: recruiters for scientists and medical representatives, staff transport, housekeeping and lab waste disposal.

Selling to pharma companies in Bangalore, step by step

  1. Cut the file by belt. South-east (Electronic City, Bommasandra, Jigani), north-west (Peenya, Rajajinagar), the old market (Chickpet, Sultanpet, Chamrajpet) and the east (Whitefield). Electronic City and Peenya are at opposite ends of the city, so never book both on one day.
  2. Find who decides. In a biotech lab, the scientist who uses the equipment shapes the choice and purchase places the order. In a distributor or pharmacy, the owner decides.
  3. Open plainly. For example: "Namaskara, I'm Arjun from a Peenya firm that services biosafety cabinets and laminar air flow units, with engineers on call in Electronic City. Who looks after lab equipment maintenance at your site?" English is the working language in labs; Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi help with traders and owners.
  4. Expect qualification. Labs and plants ask for certificates, test reports and sometimes a site visit before the first order. Once approved, suppliers are rarely changed.
  5. Follow the rules. Check the DND rules before promotional calls or SMS, and see our cold calling tips.

Questions people ask

Where are the pharma companies in Bangalore?

Biotech firms and research labs cluster around Electronic City and Hosur Road, with pharma and chemical units in Bommasandra, Jigani and Peenya. Distributors and traders are in the old market area around Chickpet, and research offices in Whitefield and along the Outer Ring Road.

Is there a list of biotech companies in Bangalore?

Not as a separate Starleads list. Biotech firms that describe themselves as pharma are in the pharma file. For a wider biotech set, or one type of firm across cities, use the list builder or request a custom list.

Does the list include homeopathic pharmacies?

Yes, many of them. If you sell only to manufacturers, filter the Category column and drop the pharmacies; if you sell to them, they are a large group in their own right.

Can I get Bangalore pharma companies with email IDs?

About 30% of rows in ours have an email address, so phone calls do most of the work. Contact details change as people move jobs, so check the sample before you plan a campaign.
