The quick answer
No government office publishes a list of companies in Vapi with the phone numbers and emails a supplier needs. The Valsad district administration describes Vapi as "a major industrial center" with "over 300 medium and large scale industries", most of them in the GIDC estate, and Gujarat's chemical, paper and textile trades dominate it. Starleads' Vapi Business Directory had 6,937 businesses on 31 October 2026, 98% of them with a mobile number and 47% with an email. A separate Business Owners & Proprietors in Vapi list had 1,015 owners, all with a mobile. Each costs ₹499 plus 18% GST, and you can download 60 rows free before you decide.
This guide is for businesses that sell to Vapi's factories: chemical and solvent traders, process equipment and fabrication shops, packaging makers, transporters and customs agents, effluent and safety consultants, software vendors and recruiters. It explains how the GIDC estate is laid out, what Starleads' data holds for Vapi and the towns around it, where those lists fall short, the environmental record every Vapi supplier should understand, and how to reach these companies within TRAI's rules. If you want a job in a Vapi company, apply through its careers page; this guide is about selling to businesses.
Companies in Vapi: a chemical town on the state border
Vapi is in Valsad district, at the southern tip of Gujarat. The national highway and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad railway pass through it, Daman (on the coast) and Silvassa (inland) are a short drive away across the boundary of the union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and Maharashtra's Palghar district begins a little to the south.
The Valsad district's economy page (read on 31 October 2026; the page itself was last updated in September 2018, so treat its counts as dated) says:
- "Valsad is an industrial base for sectors such as chemicals, textiles, and paper & pulp industries", and since the 1980s "textile and chemicals have been the major sectors of investments and employment in the district".
- "With over 300 medium and large scale industries, Vapi is a major industrial center in Valsad."
- The district has "over 10,716 units of small and medium enterprises (SMEs)", and it names the manufacture of medical devices, diagnostic reagents and instruments, sutures and orthopaedic implants.
- "One of Asia's largest Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) is present in Vapi."
The district's home page gives Valsad's area as 2,947 sq km, its population as 17,05,678 and its talukas as nine. For a seller, the picture is a few hundred big plants (chemicals, dyes and pigments, pharmaceutical ingredients, paper and board, coatings) surrounded by a long tail of small units in sheds: chemical traders, fabricators who make reactors and tanks, packaging firms, labs, transporters and service providers. Most of a supplier's customers sit in that second group.
The Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) runs the estate. GIDC's FAQ page (read on 31 October 2026) says that plots are applied for online, that the corporation "has declared 134 estates as saturated where the allotment done through public auction", and that Vapi is one of ten locations where it has begun developing multi-storeyed sheds in phase I, each planned with 16 units of 100 sq m and 12 units of 50 sq m. New small units in such sheds are new customers for everything a factory needs in its first year.
Vapi GIDC company list: phases, PIN codes and localities
People searching for a "Vapi GIDC company list" usually want to know who is in which part of the estate. We read the 60 rows in the free sample of Starleads' Vapi Business Directory to see how a Vapi file looks. A sample is small, so treat these as signs, not totals:
- One PIN code covers almost everything. 53 of the 60 rows have PIN 396195, five have 396191 (mostly on the highway and Silvassa Road side), one has 396155 (a coatings plant on Phansa Road) and one has 396210 (an industrial estate on the Daman side).
- The address tells you the estate. 39 of the 60 addresses mention GIDC in one spelling or another ("GIDC", "G.I.D.C", "G. I. D. C"), and 23 name a phase: 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th (sometimes written "IV Phase"). Three mention the "40 Shed Area" and two the "J Type" area of phase 1.
- Char Rasta is the office district. Nine addresses are at or near GIDC Char Rasta, the crossroads where computer dealers, consultants, agents and trading offices sit in commercial complexes. Plants sit in the phases; their agents and service firms sit at Char Rasta.
- The owner usually answers. 16 of the 60 contacts are proprietors, 12 owners and 8 partners; only a handful are purchase or marketing managers. In Vapi's small units, the person on the list is often the person who decides.
Across the whole list, the locality field is filled for only 16% of rows, but where it is, the most common are GIDC (230 rows), Chala (61), Char Rasta (18), Bhadakmora (17), GIDC Char Rasta (17), Imran Nagar (17), Chanod (13), Morarji Circle (13) and Gunjan (12). Sort by the address column (95% filled) instead.
| Area in the address | What you find there (from the sample) | How to plan it |
|---|---|---|
| 1st phase, including the J Type area | Chemical makers and traders in small plots | Dense; good for a walking day with samples and price lists |
| 2nd and 3rd phases | Engineering works, reactor and FRP tank fabricators, dye and chemical makers, coatings, control panels | Mix of small and mid-sized plants; call ahead for the right person |
| 4th phase | A foundry, metal tube and blower makers, engineering units and a paint maker in sheds | Spread out; group visits by plot number |
| 40 Shed Area | Very small units: chemicals, herbal products, rotary unions | Many decision-makers within a few hundred metres |
| GIDC Char Rasta and the highway (NH 8) | Offices, computer and safety dealers, consultants, hotels, agents | Channel partners and service firms rather than factories |
| Chala, Chanod, Balitha, Silvassa Road | Small offices, dealers, consultants and a few units, among homes | Check the exact address on a map before you go |
What Starleads' data shows for Vapi
The figures below are counts of contacts in Starleads' data as shown on the list pages on 31 October 2026. They are not an official census of Vapi's businesses, and the lists overlap: a company can appear in more than one. Starleads sells two lists for Vapi itself; for most industries, Vapi's companies sit inside the Gujarat state lists, where you filter the City column.
| List | Vapi rows | Vapi's place in the list | Whole list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vapi Business Directory | 6,937 | 69th of 227 city directories in India; 7th in the Gujarat directory, just ahead of Gandhinagar (6,890) | 6,937 (98% mobile, 47% email) |

| Purchase & Procurement Heads in Gujarat | 33 | In the top ten cities | 51,064 |
What the numbers say:
- Vapi is a big directory for a small city. In Starleads' Gujarat directory, Vapi has the seventh-most rows (6,937), after Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Jamnagar, and just ahead of Gandhinagar (6,890), the state capital.
- It is a logistics town as much as a chemical one. Vapi has the third-most freight forwarders and customs agents in Starleads' Gujarat list, more than Gandhidham, the town next to Kandla port. The agents who book freight and clear customs for the estate's exporters and importers work from Vapi itself.
- The fabricators are here because the plants are. Vapi is fifth in Gujarat for fabricators and engineering works, ahead of much bigger cities such as Bhavnagar and Jamnagar. The sample alone has makers of reactors, pressure vessels, FRP tanks, filter presses and blowers: the equipment chemical units buy.
- The town directory is the mobile list. 98% of the Vapi directory has a mobile and 11% a landline. It suits calling and WhatsApp follow-ups once you have consent. The state chemical list has emails for 82% of rows, so plan an email first for those.
For comparison, these are the biggest city directories in Starleads' data across India:
- Mumbai 5,77,978 contacts · 41% email · 76% mobile ₹499
- Hyderabad 4,09,205 contacts · 36% email · 89% mobile ₹499
- Bengaluru 3,39,403 contacts · 34% email · 98% mobile ₹499
- Chennai 2,97,138 contacts · 39% email · 79% mobile ₹499
- New Delhi 2,92,834 contacts · 44% email · 96% mobile ₹499
- Pune 2,48,520 contacts · 41% email · 89% mobile ₹499
- Ahmedabad 1,56,718 contacts · 47% email · 98% mobile ₹499
- Kolkata 1,48,354 contacts · 33% email · 75% mobile ₹499
- Jaipur 1,19,033 contacts · 34% email · 86% mobile ₹499
- Surat 70,801 contacts · 44% email · 89% mobile ₹499
- Faridabad 49,897 contacts · 39% email · 95% mobile ₹499
- Kota 12,191 contacts · 19% email · 97% mobile ₹499
Where the lists fall short
We read the samples before writing this. Know these problems before you buy:
- Vapi appears under two names. In several Gujarat lists, some Vapi rows have the city "Vapi" and others "Valsad -Vapi". In the chemicals list that is 138 and 128 rows; in packaging, 38 and 72. When you filter a state list, search the City column for "Vapi" anywhere in the text, not an exact match, or you will miss half of them. Some "Valsad -Vapi" rows in the exporters sample even have addresses in Bilimora, Silvassa or other districts, so check the address too.
- Daman is filed under Gujarat. Starleads' Daman directory (1,213 businesses, 42% with a mobile and 62% with a landline) shows the state as Gujarat, and Daman rows also appear in Gujarat state lists, such as 20 in the fabricators list. Daman is in the union territory, not Gujarat. That matters for GST, as explained below.
- No pharma list for Vapi. Many people search for pharma companies in Vapi, but Starleads' Pharma & Chemical Companies list is small for this region: 275 rows in all of Gujarat, and Vapi is not among its top cities. Vapi's API and intermediate makers are more likely to be in the Vapi directory or the chemicals list.
- Few names and categories. Only 26% of the Vapi directory names a contact person and 5% has a category. In the sample, eight of the category cells held a phone number and one an address. Judge what a company makes from its name and website.
- Not every row is a factory, or in Vapi. The sample includes two hotels, two computer dealers and a placement agency, and one row has an address in Talasari taluka of Palghar, Maharashtra. Remove them for an industrial campaign.
Use the list builder to pick only the rows with a mobile or an email, or request a custom list. Starleads does not promise that every number still works: contact details change, which is why the sample is free.
Vapi's neighbours: Valsad, Daman, Silvassa and Sarigam
A sales trip to Vapi usually covers the towns around it, but they do not all sit in the same state, and that changes your paperwork.
| Place | Where it is | What Starleads has | What to note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vapi | Valsad district, Gujarat | Directory 6,937; owners 1,015 | GIDC estate, phases 1 to 4; 53 of 60 sample rows PIN 396195 |
| Valsad (town) | District headquarters, north of Vapi | Directory 1,558 (90% mobile, 56% email) | Its sample localities include GIDC and Sarigam, so some industrial units are filed here |
| Sarigam and Umbergaon | Valsad district, south of Vapi | No separate list; look in the Valsad and Vapi files | Separate GIDC estates; filter addresses for "Sarigam" or "Umbergaon" |
| Daman | Union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu | Directory 1,213 (listed under Gujarat) | Different state for GST; localities include Dabhel, Bhimpore and Kachigam |
| Silvassa | Same union territory, inland | No separate list; some rows sit in Gujarat lists with Silvassa addresses | Different state for GST; the Gujarat exporters sample has Silvassa addresses filed under "Valsad -Vapi" |
| Navsari | Navsari district, Gujarat, further north | Directory 1,514 | A separate district; check which district a buyer is registered in |
The GST point is the one that costs money if you get it wrong. Every GSTIN starts with a two-digit state code, and Gujarat's is 24. A supplier registered in Gujarat who sells to a unit in Daman or Silvassa is making an inter-state supply and charges IGST, not CGST plus SGST, even though the buyer is fifteen minutes away. Check the first two digits of the buyer's GSTIN on the GST taxpayer search before you raise the first invoice, and make sure the "place of supply" on your invoice matches where the goods are delivered.
The environmental record every Vapi supplier should know
Vapi's industry has a long history of pollution findings, and that shapes what its factories buy and what they ask of suppliers. Down To Earth's report of 24 May 2023 (read on 31 October 2026) sets out the record:
- The Central Pollution Control Board scores industrial clusters on a Comprehensive Environmental Pollution Index (CEPI); a score of 70 or more marks a "critically polluted area". Vapi was ranked first in 2011 with a score of 90.75, and in 2018 it was 18th with 79.95, still above the line. The same report gives 88.09 for 2009, 85.31 for 2013 and 68.2 for 2016.
- The common effluent treatment plant has a capacity of 55 million litres a day and serves the GIDC estate's "more than 500 industries", taking treated effluent from chemical, dye, textile, paper, pharmaceutical and pesticide units.
- A case in the National Green Tribunal, Aryavart Foundation vs Vapi Green Enviro Ltd (CETP, Vapi), filed in 2018, led the tribunal to order the Central and Gujarat pollution control boards to monitor the plant from January 2019. Joint samples taken on 30 September 2022 found several inlet parameters, including COD, BOD, chloride, sulphate, phenols and cyanide, above the inlet norms.
What this means for a seller:
- Treatment and monitoring are a market. Units must meet the CETP's inlet norms before they discharge, so effluent treatment equipment, evaporators, filter presses, lab instruments, online monitoring and environmental consultants all have buyers here. The Vapi sample alone has an enviro-tech firm, a water solutions firm and a filter press maker.
- Waste and solvent handling must be documented. If you take back drums, spent solvent or waste, expect the buyer to ask for your authorisations from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board before the first pickup. Have them ready; a plant that is being watched will not risk an undocumented vendor.
- Safety sells. Chemical units buy fire safety, gas detection, personal protective equipment and safety audits. The Vapi sample has a fire safety firm and, at GIDC Char Rasta, a safety equipment supplier.
- Don't over-claim. If your product helps with compliance, say what it does and show test reports. Never promise a buyer that it will make them "compliant" or keep them out of a tribunal case.
Official checks before you give credit
A contact list tells you whom to call. Before you give credit or sign a supply contract, check the company in the official registers. These are free:
| Source | What it tells you | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| GST taxpayer search | Whether a GSTIN is active, the legal and trade name, the state and type of registration | Before the first invoice; check the state code (24 for Gujarat) for Daman and Silvassa buyers |
| MCA company master data | Legal name, CIN, active or struck-off status, registered office and directors | Before credit terms; many Vapi plants have their registered office in Mumbai |
| Udyam registration | Whether a unit is a registered micro, small or medium enterprise | When the buyer asks for your MSME status, or when MSME payment terms apply to you |
| GIDC (online services) | Plot allotment, sheds, water and drainage connections in the estate | If you plan to set up a unit or a godown in Vapi yourself |
| The company's own website | Plants, products, certifications, supplier registration forms | Before the first call, to know what the plant makes |
Our company search guide walks through the MCA, GST, IEC and Udyam look-ups step by step.
Who sells to Vapi's companies, and which list fits
| Seller | Who to reach | Best list to start with |
|---|---|---|
| Solvent, acid and raw chemical traders | Owner in small units; purchase in large ones | Vapi directory, then the Gujarat chemicals list filtered for both spellings of Vapi |
| Reactors, tanks, pumps, valves, filter presses | Plant head or maintenance in-charge, then purchase | Vapi directory; the fabricators list to see your competitors |
| Drums, carboys, bags and corrugated boxes | Stores and despatch, then purchase | Vapi directory; the packaging list for competitors and partners |
| Freight, customs clearing, tankers | Logistics or export manager | Vapi directory; the freight forwarders list if you want agents as partners |
| Effluent treatment, labs, safety and fire | Plant head, EHS manager or owner | Vapi directory and the business owners list |
| ERP, accounting software, IT services | Owner or director | Business Owners in Vapi; the Gujarat CEOs list (45 rows under "Valsad -Vapi") |
| Recruitment, housekeeping, canteens, security | HR or administration head | Vapi directory; large plants by name |
If you also sell to Gujarat's other chemical centres, see our list of chemical companies in India, the list of companies in Gujarat and the list of companies in Surat. For shipping partners, see freight forwarders in India.
How to win your first orders in Vapi, step by step
- Pick one kind of buyer. "Vapi companies" is too broad. Choose, for example, dye intermediate makers in the 2nd and 3rd phases that buy filter cloth, or small units in the 40 Shed Area that buy HDPE drums. Filter the list to them by name and address.
- Clean the file. Merge the "Vapi" and "Valsad -Vapi" rows, remove hotels, agents and rows outside the district, and add a column for what each company makes, from its website. Sort by phase and plot number.
- Mark the state of each buyer. Add a column with the GSTIN state code. Daman and Silvassa buyers need IGST invoices and often a different transporter route; keep them in a separate batch.
- Find the vendor registration route. Larger plants, and those owned by groups with offices in Mumbai, register new suppliers through a form or a central purchase team. Look for "vendor registration" or "supplier" on the website before you call, and ask on the first call where the purchase order is raised.
- Call small units on the owner's mobile. Mornings are for production, so late morning or after lunch is usually easier. Open in Gujarati, Hindi or English, whichever the person answers in. For example: "Namaste, I supply HDPE carboys from Sarigam. We deliver to three units in the 3rd phase every week. What size do you use most?"
- Email the plants first. For mid-sized and large units, send a short email with your product, your GST number, test certificates and a price range, then call the plant two working days later and ask for the person who handles that item.
- Visit one phase a day. Use your sorted file. The 1st phase and the 40 Shed Area are dense and walkable; the 4th phase and Phansa Road need a vehicle. Carry your pollution and safety documents if you handle chemicals or waste.
- Check before you give credit. Look up the GSTIN and the MCA status before you agree to 30 or 60 days' credit, as in the table above.
For more on reaching buyers inside large plants, see our guide to reaching purchase and procurement managers.
Calling, SMS and email within the rules
Most numbers in the Vapi directory are mobiles, and in small units they are often the owner's personal phone. TRAI's rules on commercial communication apply to them whichever list they came from:
- DND (NCPR). TRAI's customer preference registration page (read on 31 October 2026) lets anyone block commercial calls and SMS by SMS or a call to 1909, by IVR, an approved app or a web portal. People can block everything or choose categories (such as "Consumer goods and automobiles" or "Banking/Insurance/Financial products/credit cards"), modes (voice and SMS, auto-dialer and robo calls), time bands and days. Check numbers before a promotional campaign; our DND check guide shows how.
- Registered senders and DLT. TRAI's Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference (Second Amendment) Regulations, 2025, dated 12 February 2025, require access providers to ensure that commercial communication "takes place only using registered headers or the number resources allotted to the Senders from special series". Its explanatory note says promotional auto-dialer and robo calls should use 140-series numbers. Send SMS through a DLT-registered provider with an approved header and template; our DLT registration guide explains how.
- Complaints and penalties. Under the same amendment, a complaint must be made within seven days of the call or message. For unregistered telemarketers, a first violation brings a warning, a second a six-month usage cap, and a third the disconnection of all the sender's telecom resources for up to two years and blacklisting. The safest calls are the ones the business has asked for.
- Consent for follow-ups. At the end of the first call, ask how the company wants your catalogue (email, WhatsApp or SMS), note the answer and the date, and stop when someone says no.
Starleads sells lists of businesses and professionals only. It does not sell lists of factory workers, job seekers, residents or any other private individuals, and a company list must never be used to reach employees at home. For Starleads' figures across India, see the Insights page.
Questions people ask
How many companies are there in Vapi?
We did not find a current official count that we could check today. The Valsad district's economy page, last updated in 2018, says Vapi has "over 300 medium and large scale industries", and Down To Earth reported in 2023 that the CETP serves "more than 500 industries" in the GIDC estate. Starleads' Vapi directory had 6,937 businesses of every kind on 31 October 2026; that is a count of contacts in Starleads' data, not a census.
Is there a Vapi GIDC company list with contact numbers?
Not from GIDC itself. Starleads' Vapi directory gives phone numbers for 98% of its rows, and you can filter its address column for "GIDC" and the phase. In the free sample, 39 of 60 addresses mentioned GIDC and 23 named a phase.
Which are the main industries in Vapi?
The district administration names chemicals, textiles, and paper and pulp as Valsad's industrial base, and also mentions medical devices. Starleads' Vapi rows add dyes and pigments, coatings, process equipment fabrication, packaging and freight forwarding.
Can I get a list of pharma or chemical companies in Vapi only?
Not as a ready-made Vapi list. The Gujarat chemicals list has 266 Vapi rows under two spellings of the city; filter it, or filter the Vapi directory by company name. Starleads has no separate pharma list for Vapi. Large pharmaceutical companies publish their plant addresses on their own websites.
Is there a free list of companies in Vapi as a PDF?
Starleads' Vapi lists have a free 60-row sample as Excel or PDF. Older PDF lists of Vapi companies are shared on document sites, but check their dates: units close, change hands and change numbers.
Are Silvassa and Daman companies in the Vapi list?
Mostly not. Daman has its own directory of 1,213 businesses (filed under Gujarat in Starleads' data, although Daman is in the union territory), and some Silvassa units appear in Gujarat state lists. Remember that both are a different state for GST.
