Tyre companies in India

India's tyre makers are a well-known group. Indian companies include MRF, Apollo Tyres, CEAT, JK Tyre, Balkrishna Industries (BKT, best known for off-highway tyres for tractors and mining), TVS Srichakra (the Eurogrip brand) and Birla Tyres. Global makers with plants in India include Bridgestone, Michelin, Goodyear, Continental and Yokohama. Between them they make tyres for cars, two-wheelers, trucks and buses, tractors and earthmovers, and some, BKT among them, sell most of their output abroad.

The makers' industry body is the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA). Natural rubber, the main raw material, is grown mostly in Kerala, and the Rubber Board in Kottayam looks after that side of the trade. Tyres for cars, two-wheelers, trucks and buses fall under compulsory BIS certification, so a tyre sold in India should carry the ISI mark alongside its size, load and speed markings and its date of manufacture.

Makers sell new tyres two ways: direct to vehicle makers for fitting at the factory, and through dealers to the replacement market, where every vehicle owner and fleet eventually buys. The replacement trade is where a contact list is useful, and it is what Starleads sells: a tyre dealers list by city and state.

Who is in the tyre trade

  • Brand-exclusive outlets. Most large makers run franchised showrooms under their own banner, often with wheel alignment and balancing.
  • Multi-brand tyre dealers, the bulk of the trade, selling several brands and sizes from a shop with a fitting bay.
  • Truck and bus tyre dealers, usually clustered in transport nagars and along highways, selling to fleet owners on credit.
  • Retreaders. Truck and bus tyres are often retreaded once or more, so retreading plants and their dealers are a large trade of their own.
  • Wheel care and repair shops: alignment and balancing centres, nitrogen filling, puncture and tube repair, many attached to car service garages.
  • Two-wheeler tyre shops, often part of a spare parts or service business.

Fleet owners think in cost per kilometre, not price per tyre. A transporter running a few dozen trucks wants mileage, retreadability and credit, and switches dealers for better terms. Our transporters and logistics guide covers those buyers directly.

Our tyre dealers list

The Tyre Dealers list has 9,656 businesses in 210 cities and towns: tyre dealers and showrooms, truck tyre traders, retreaders, and wheel alignment and tyre service shops. 93% have a mobile number, 33% an email address and 95% a shop address. 49% carry the owner's or a contact's name. Shops change hands and numbers, so no tyre dealers list stays complete; look at the free sample before you buy.

Who sells to tyre dealers

  • Tyre brands adding dealers in districts they cover thinly, or launching a new range such as truck radials or two-wheeler tubeless tyres. See how to get a dealership for what makers ask.
  • Equipment sellers: wheel alignment and balancing machines, tyre changers, nitrogen generators, compressors and jacks.
  • Retreading suppliers: tread rubber, bonding gum and retreading machinery.
  • Allied products: tubes and flaps, alloy wheels, valves, puncture kits, and car and truck batteries, which many tyre shops also sell. Our battery dealers guide covers that trade.
  • Lubricant brands looking for outlets that see vehicles every day.
  • Lenders and software firms: stock finance, and billing software that tracks tyre serial numbers for warranty claims.

Calling tyre dealers

  1. Know the segment. A car tyre showroom, a truck tyre trader in a transport nagar and a two-wheeler shop buy different things. The shop name usually tells you which.
  2. Call when the bay is quiet. Mornings and evenings bring walk-in customers. Early afternoon tends to be better for the owner.
  3. Open with a clear offer. For example: "Namaste, I'm calling from a wheel alignment machine supplier in Pune. We supply 3D alignment machines with installation, training for your mechanic and EMI. Do you have an alignment bay at the moment?"
  4. Expect questions on margins, warranty claims and how quickly they are settled, credit, stock support, and whether the brand already has a dealer nearby.
  5. Visit if the first call goes well. Tyre dealers like to see the product, the machine or the person before they commit.

Questions people ask

Which is the biggest tyre company in India?

Rankings depend on whether you measure revenue, volume or a single segment, and they change. The listed companies publish their figures in annual reports, and ATMA publishes industry data; we do not rank companies.

Does the list include tyre manufacturers?

Mostly no. It is a dealer and service list, with some distributors and retreaders. Manufacturers are a short list you can find in ATMA's membership and the makers' own websites.

What should I check in a tyre dealers list?

Whether a row is a dealer, a retreader or a repair shop, because each needs a different pitch; whether the town matches your delivery area; and whether the number is a mobile, since tyre shop landlines often go unanswered on a busy day. Brand showrooms may also appear under the brand's name, so read the business name before you call.

Can I get truck tyre dealers only?

Filter the category or business name in the file, or ask us for a custom list. To combine several cities, use the list builder.
