Chemical companies in Vadodara: big plants and small estates
Chemical companies in Vadodara come in two very different sizes. A few giants anchor the city: the Indian Oil refinery at Koyali, Reliance's petrochemical complex, and two state companies, GSFC (Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals) and GACL (Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals). Around them, owner-run specialty chemical, resin and plastics units fill the GIDC estates. The giants buy through vendor lists and tenders; the small units buy on a phone call. Most new suppliers start with the second group.
- North of the city: Nandesari, a long-established estate of intermediate, specialty and fine chemical makers near the Koyali refinery, and the Ranoli area beside it.
- South: Makarpura, mostly engineering, whose fabricators build reactors, tanks and columns for chemical plants, and Por further down the highway.
- North-east and east: Manjusar and Savli, newer estates with chemical, pharma and engineering plants, and Waghodia to the east.
- In town: chemical traders and the offices of firms whose plants are elsewhere, around Alkapuri, Race Course and Sayajigunj.
- The Bharuch belt: Ankleshwar, Jhagadia and Dahej lie down the highway to the south, and many Vadodara engineers, contractors and suppliers serve plants there.
Records you can check without paying
- GIDC estate pages show plots and allotments in Nandesari, Makarpura and the newer estates. No phone numbers.
- FGI, the Federation of Gujarat Industries, is based in Vadodara and brings the city's manufacturers together; GCCI covers the whole state. Member details are mostly for members.
- Estate associations at Nandesari, Makarpura and elsewhere speak for their units and often run shared facilities. A visit can get you an introduction, rarely a printed list.
- Gujarat Pollution Control Board consents often name a plant's products and permitted quantities, a fair guide to its size. They carry no purchase contact.
- Vendor registration pages of the large plants explain how to apply and where tenders appear. Our vendor registration guide covers the paperwork.
Together they tell you which plants exist and roughly what they make, not who to ring about valves next week.
Inside our Vadodara chemicals list
Our chemical companies in Vadodara list is the Chemicals, Plastics & Rubber in Vadodara file of 3,438 businesses. 80% have a mobile number, 80% an email address and 88% a named contact. 90% of rows say what the firm does. Expect variety. Besides chemical makers and dealers, the file holds adhesive makers, pigment and dye firms, plastic bag, acrylic and fibreglass fabricators, and some sellers of chemical plant equipment and plastics machinery. Most rows are small and mid-sized firms rather than the big plants.

Who sells to Vadodara's chemical plants
- To the large plants: spares, instruments and services for the annual turnaround, such as insulation, painting, tank and heat-exchanger cleaning, through registered vendors and rate contracts.
- To specialty and intermediate makers: glass-lined and stainless steel reactors from Makarpura's fabricators, vacuum pumps, brine chillers, nitrogen and other industrial gases, and solvent recovery systems.
- To resin, adhesive and plastics units: polymer and additive dealers, moulds and extruder spares.
- To every unit: quality control instruments and calibration, gas detectors and breathing sets, effluent plant operation, hazardous waste transport, and help with pollution board consents.
- People and transport: agencies supplying shift chemists and operators, and tanker and drum hauliers running to Dahej and Hazira.
Dye and pigment making is more of an Ahmedabad trade; our guide to chemical companies in Ahmedabad covers Vatva and Naroda, and the India-wide chemical guide covers the other belts.
How to approach a Vadodara chemical buyer
- Decide which door you are knocking on. At a large plant, register as a vendor first, then send a short technical note to the user department: maintenance, process or the lab. At a small unit, the owner or works manager decides on the call.
- Lead with proof. Data sheets, test certificates and a reference from a unit nearby count for more than a brochure. A workable opener: "Good morning. We stock PTFE-lined valves and pipes in Makarpura and deliver to Nandesari the same day. Who handles maintenance purchases at your plant?"
- Ask about the shutdown calendar. Big plants plan maintenance shutdowns months ahead, and that is when spares and contract budgets are spent. Ask when the next one is and call well before it.
- Plan trips by direction. Keep Nandesari and Ranoli for one day, Makarpura and Por for another, Manjusar and Savli for a third. The Bharuch belt needs its own early start.
- Use the right language and rules. Gujarati, Hindi and English all work, since engineers come from across India. Check our DND guide before promotional calls or SMS.
