The quick answer
There is no free, official list of pharma companies in Ahmedabad with phone numbers and emails. The drug regulators license units and the export council lists its members, but none of them publishes a contact file you can sort and call. The pages that rank for this search are mostly PCD franchise and third-party manufacturing companies promoting themselves, or "top 10" lists of the same few big names. To build a real list of pharmaceutical companies in Ahmedabad, combine three things: the official registers (to confirm a company exists and holds a licence), the industrial estates where the plants are (Vatva, Naroda, Odhav, Changodar, Sanand and the Dholka road), and contact lists that cover the trade from more than one side.
Starleads' own data is honest about its limits here. Its All-India Pharma & Chemical Companies list had 2,867 companies on 30 October 2026, of which only 50 give Ahmedabad as their city (275 across 21 places in Gujarat). The bigger Ahmedabad lists that hold pharma companies are the Exporters in Ahmedabad list (5,520 rows, 87 of them filed under "Pharmaceutical Formulations" and 34 under "Drugs & Medications"), the Chemicals, Plastics & Rubber in Ahmedabad list (3,086 rows, where intermediates and bulk drug makers sit) and the Purchase & Procurement Heads in Ahmedabad list (934 people, 62 in pharmaceutical companies). This guide maps where the companies are, which list covers which part, the free sources to check first, the rules that are changing what pharma plants buy, and how to call them within TRAI's rules.
Where pharma companies in Ahmedabad are: offices on S.G. Highway, plants on the edges
Ahmedabad's pharma industry has two faces. The corporate offices, marketing teams and head offices sit on and around the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar (S.G.) Highway in the west of the city. The plants sit on the edges: in the old GIDC estates in the east, on the highways to the south-west towards Changodar, Sanand and Bavla, and along the Sarkhej-Dholka road. Before you build a list, decide which face you need, because the two are reached through different people and often appear as separate rows.
The addresses below come from the companies' own websites and from the free samples of Starleads' lists, read on 30 October 2026:
| Area | What is there | Examples we saw |
|---|---|---|
| S.G. Highway, Thaltej, Bodakdev, Iscon Cross Road | Corporate offices, marketing and procurement teams of large and mid-sized drug makers | Intas Pharmaceuticals' corporate office is at Corporate House, near Sola Bridge, S.G. Highway, Thaltej. Concord Biotech's corporate address is Mondeal Heights, Iscon Cross Road, S.G. Highway. Procurement heads of pharmaceutical companies in Starleads' purchase list give Bodakdev and S.G. Road addresses. |
| Sarkhej-Dholka Road (Bhat) and Dholka, Trasad Road | Head offices with campuses, and formulation, API and research plants south-west of the city | Cadila Pharmaceuticals' corporate office is on the Sarkhej Dholka Road at Bhat, and its Dholka manufacturing plant and a research unit are on Trasad Road, Dholka. Concord Biotech lists plants at Trasad Road, Dholka and at Valthera, Dholka taluka, each with its own purchase department email. |
| Changodar, Sanand, Moraiya | Newer formulation plants along the Ahmedabad-Rajkot highway and the Sarkhej-Changodar road | In Google's local results for this search, one of the three companies shown gives its address on the Sarkhej-Changodar road in Sanand taluka. |
| Vatva GIDC | Intermediates, bulk drug and chemical units, and pharma machinery makers | In Starleads' free samples: an intermediates maker in Phase II, a maker of pharmaceutical machinery in Phase IV and a pharma machines company in Phase I. |
| Naroda GIDC and Odhav | Small and mid-sized formulation and chemical units in the east | A drugs and medications exporter with a Naroda GIDC address in the exporters sample; Odhav is the top locality in the Ahmedabad chemicals list (11 rows where a locality is given). |
| Navrangpura, Ashram Road, Ellis Bridge, Kankaria | Trading offices, marketing (PCD) companies, distributors and the city's surgical and medical trade | Ellis Bridge, Navrangpura and Ashram Road are among the top localities of Starleads' surgical supplies list; a bulk drugs trader in the pharma sample has an office on Diwan Ballubhai Road. |
The practical rule is the same as in most industrial cities: if you sell raw materials, packaging, spares, utilities or services that a plant consumes, the plant address is what you want, and many of the plants are outside the city limits even when the company is "an Ahmedabad company". If you want a vendor approval, a distribution deal or a marketing partnership, the corporate office on S.G. Highway is usually where the decision is made. Many companies appear twice, once at each address, and that is fine as long as you merge them before you assign leads to callers.
Gujarat's state industrial body, GIDC, says on its website (read on 30 October 2026) that it has established 239 industrial estates across the state, and it was inviting applications for a Bulk Drug Park at Jambusar and a Medical Device Park at Nagalpor. Those parks are in other districts, not in Ahmedabad, but they show where new capacity is planned. For the chemical side of the city, see our guide to chemical companies in Ahmedabad.
Which kind of pharma company do you want?
"Pharma company" covers businesses that buy, sell and decide very differently. The pages that rank for this search mix them freely: one ranks a giant drug maker next to a small marketing company that owns no plant. Pick the type first; it changes the list, the person and the pitch.
| Type | What it does | Who decides and what they buy | Where to find it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Formulation manufacturer | Makes tablets, capsules, syrups, injections or ointments in its own licensed plant | Purchase and plant heads: excipients, packaging, machine spares, utilities, lab instruments, contract labour | Pharma list, exporters list ("Pharmaceutical Formulations"), purchase heads list |
| API, bulk drug or intermediate maker | Makes the active ingredients or the chemicals that become them | Purchase, production and EHS heads: solvents, key starting materials, reactors, effluent treatment, drums | Pharma list ("Bulk Drugs", "Bulk Drug Intermediates"), chemicals list (Vatva and Odhav rows) |
| Contract or third-party manufacturer | Makes products for other brands under their name | Owner or business development head: wants new brand clients, and buys like any plant | Pharma list; many describe themselves on their own websites as "third party manufacturing" |
| PCD or marketing company | Owns brands, has products made by a contract maker, sells through franchisees and distributors | Owner: buys printing, packaging design, software, and looks for franchisees | Most of the pages ranking for this search; also the exporters and pharma lists |
| Distributor, stockist or C&F agent | Holds stock and supplies chemists and hospitals | Owner: logistics, cold chain, billing software, new principal companies | Chemists and surgical supplies lists, traders |
| Pharma machinery and equipment maker | Builds tablet presses, packaging lines, process equipment | Owner and sales head: steel, motors, components; and they need pharma plants as customers | Exporters and purchase lists; Vatva GIDC addresses |
If you are looking for a PCD franchise or a third-party manufacturer for your own brand, you are a buyer of their services, and the ranking pages will find you quickly. This guide is mostly for the other direction: suppliers, service firms, recruiters and distributors who want Ahmedabad's pharma companies as customers or partners. Our India pharma guide explains how plants approve new vendors, and our guide on getting a dealership covers the distribution side.
What Starleads' data shows for pharma companies in Ahmedabad
The figures below are counts of contacts in Starleads' data as shown on the list pages on 30 October 2026. They are not an official census of the pharma industry, and the lists overlap: one company can be in more than one list.
| List | Contacts | Mobile / email | What matters for pharma |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pharma & Chemical Companies, All India | 2,867 (Ahmedabad 50; Vadodara 131; Gujarat 275) | 73% / 40% | The dedicated pharma list. Categories include Chemicals- Pharmaceutical (986), Homeopathic Pharmacy (401), Bulk Drugs (229) and Pharmaceutical Raw Material (177). Gujarat is the 3rd state, after Maharashtra (1,208) and Karnataka (494). |
| Exporters in Ahmedabad | 5,520 | 95% / 93% | Pharmaceutical Formulations (87) and Drugs & Medications (34) are among its 12 biggest categories. 6th largest of 45 city exporter lists; 48% of Gujarat's. |
| Chemicals, Plastics & Rubber in Ahmedabad | 3,086 | 91% / 84% | Chemicals (1,180), dyes and intermediates; where bulk drug and intermediate units without a pharma label sit. 5th of 29 cities; 26% of Gujarat's list. |
| Purchase & Procurement Heads in Ahmedabad | 934 | 1% / 74% (97% landline) | Named people with designations; 62 are in pharmaceutical companies. An email and office-line list, not a mobile list. |
| Chemists & Medical Stores in Ahmedabad | 1,450 | 99% / 72% | The other end of the chain: the retail outlets a pharma brand or distributor sells to. 7th of 23 cities. |
| Surgical & Hospital Supplies Dealers in Ahmedabad | 263 | 95% / 57% | Surgical and medical trade, clustered around the GPO area, Relief Road and Ellis Bridge. |
| Packaging & Printing in Ahmedabad | 1,851 | 93% / 84% | Carton, label and packaging suppliers, if you are a pharma company looking for vendors rather than the other way round. |
Live figure: the Pharma & Chemical Companies in India list has 2,867 companies today, 73% of them with a mobile number. The biggest city lists in that industry are below.
- Mumbai 922 contacts · 39% email · 68% mobile ₹499
- Bengaluru 490 contacts · 26% email · 99% mobile ₹499
What the numbers say:
- Starleads' dedicated pharma list is thin for Ahmedabad. 50 rows is a small fraction of the city's industry; Vadodara has more than twice as many in the same list. If a pharma-only Ahmedabad file is what you need, the list will not be enough on its own. Say so to yourself before you plan a 500-call campaign.
- The exporters list is the strongest single source. Many Ahmedabad drug makers export, and the exporters list has 121 rows in its two pharma categories alone, with 95% mobile and 93% email coverage across the list. Rows without a category (or with a broad one) need a search of the company name for words such as "pharma", "healthcare", "life", "lab", "remedies" or "biotech".
- The chemicals list catches the bulk drug side. Intermediates and API units are often filed as chemical companies, which is why the Vatva and Odhav rows matter.
- The purchase list reaches people, not companies. Its 62 pharmaceutical rows name procurement managers and heads, mostly with an office email and landline. Use it to reach the decision-maker at companies you already know, alongside our guide to reaching purchase managers.
Where the lists fall short
We read the free 60-row samples before writing this. Plan for these problems:
- Not every row in a pharma list is a pharma company. Of the five Ahmedabad rows in the pharma list's free sample, two are clearly something else (an IT firm and a brush maker). Read the company name and category, and drop what doesn't fit.
- The city column and the address don't always agree. In the same sample, some rows filed under Surat carry street addresses that read like another city's (a "Hosur Road", a "31st B Cross"). Check the PIN code and the company's own website before you plan visits.
- Many emails are personal webmail. In the Ahmedabad exporters sample, 28 of 60 email addresses are on Yahoo, Gmail, Rediffmail or older providers. They may reach the owner directly, or they may be dead. Prefer the company-domain address where both exist.
- Big groups appear more than once. One skin care company has two procurement people in the purchase sample, and a company with a similar name at the same building a third row. Merge them so two callers don't ring the same office.
Starleads doesn't promise that every number still works: companies move, merge and change names, which is why the 60-row sample is free. In the list builder you can combine industries for Ahmedabad (for example pharma, exporters and chemicals), keep only rows with a mobile or an email, and see the count and price before you pay. Every city, state or specialisation list costs ₹499 plus 18% GST. If you need something narrower, such as formulation makers only, ask for a custom list.
Free and official sources on Ahmedabad's pharma companies
Check these before you pay anyone. Each confirms that a company exists or holds a licence; none of them is a calling list.
- Gujarat's Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDCA) licenses drug manufacturing and sale in the state. Its commissioner told Digital Health News (article last updated 29 November 2024, read on 30 October 2026) that over 6,000 drug manufacturers and more than 53,000 retail and wholesale licensees were using the FDCA's mDMLA mobile app, launched on 25 December 2023 for online licence applications. That gives a sense of scale for the whole state: Gujarat's drug manufacturers number in the thousands, while any contact list, ours included, holds a fraction of them. The FDCA's own website could not be reached from our checks on 30 October 2026.
- CDSCO, the national drug regulator, lists Ahmedabad among its zonal offices on its home page (read on 30 October 2026), alongside Bengaluru, Chennai, Ghaziabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. The site carries the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, the Drugs Rules, 1945, the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, approvals and notices; it is not a company directory.
- Pharmexcil, the pharmaceuticals export promotion council, has a "View Members" section and a trade enquiry section on its website (read on 30 October 2026). Its member directory is the best free check of whether an Ahmedabad company exports, and its circulars track rule changes that affect exporters.
- GIDC publishes estate-wise land and plot details through its portal. It tells you which estates exist and what is being developed, not who occupies each plot.
- MCA master data and the GST search. Confirm a company's legal name, status, directors and registered office on MCA, and check that its GSTIN is active on the GST taxpayer search. Our company search guide walks through each look-up.
The rule changes that shape what Ahmedabad's pharma plants buy
Two recent changes matter if you sell to pharma companies, because they create needs that weren't there before.
Revised Schedule M: the GMP upgrade deadline for smaller makers
Schedule M sets the good manufacturing practice (GMP) standards a drug plant must meet. A Pharmexcil circular dated 6 February 2025 (read on 30 October 2026) told members that small and medium manufacturers with a turnover of ₹250 crore or less could get an extension to implement the revised Schedule M "up to 31 December 2025", on condition that they submitted their upgrade plan in Form A to the Central Licence Approving Authority within three months from 11 February 2025. That date has now passed.
For a supplier, this means many of the smaller formulation units in Naroda, Odhav, Vatva and Changodar have spent the past year or two upgrading: cleanroom and HVAC work, water systems, qualification and validation, documentation and quality systems, and lab instruments. If that is your trade, ask on the first call where the unit stands on its Schedule M upgrade and what is still open. Don't claim to know a company's compliance status; ask.
GST on medicines and medical devices from 22 September 2025
The GST Council's press release on its 56th meeting (read on 30 October 2026) lists these changes for health, with the new rates on goods from 22 September 2025:
- 12% to nil on 33 lifesaving drugs and medicines, and 5% to nil on three used for cancer, rare diseases and other severe chronic diseases;
- 12% to 5% on all other drugs and medicines;
- 18% to 5% on various medical apparatus and devices used for medical, surgical, dental or veterinary use or for physical or chemical analysis;
- 12% to 5% on medical supplies such as wadding gauze, bandages, diagnostic kits and reagents, and glucometers.
Lower rates on finished medicines change pricing conversations across the chain, from the plant to the stockist. If you sell inputs to a pharma maker, quote your own product's HSN code and rate clearly on every quotation and let the buyer's accountant confirm how it fits their credit position; the press release is a summary, and the rate depends on the exact product.
How to build a list of pharma companies in Ahmedabad, step by step
- Write down who you want. Type of company (formulation, API, contract maker, marketing company, distributor), size, and area. "Formulation plants in Changodar and Sanand that make tablets" is a list you can build; "pharma companies in Ahmedabad" isn't.
- Download the free samples. The pharma list, the Ahmedabad exporters list and the Ahmedabad chemicals list each show 60 real rows. Look at how many rows fit your definition, and at the mobile and email columns.
- Build one Ahmedabad file. In the list builder, pick the industries you need and Ahmedabad as the city; add Gujarat if you also want Vadodara, Ankleshwar and the rest. Plants in Dholka, Sanand or Bavla may give a town rather than Ahmedabad as their city, so choosing the state catches more of them.
- Filter by category and name. Keep the pharma categories, then search company names for "pharma", "healthcare", "life", "lab", "remedies", "biotech", "drugs" and "intermediates". Drop rows that are clearly something else.
- Sort by PIN code. 382445 is the Vatva GIDC area in the samples, 382330 Naroda GIDC, 382210 the Sarkhej side and 380054 and 380015 the S.G. Highway offices. PIN tells you plant or office faster than the city column does.
- Check your top fifty. GSTIN active, MCA status active, a working website. For exporters, look for Pharmexcil membership. Merge duplicates and mark head office versus plant.
- Add the people. Match your shortlist against the purchase heads list for named procurement contacts, and use company websites: some list a purchase department email for each plant.
- Scrub for DND and plan the first week. Check mobile numbers against the NCPR before any promotional call or SMS (see below), then follow our 7-day calling plan.
Selling to pharma companies in Ahmedabad
- Know the department. Purchase buys consumables, packaging and spares; production and engineering choose equipment; QC picks instruments and reagents; QA approves any new material supplier; EHS handles effluent and hazardous waste. A call to the wrong department wastes both sides' time.
- Expect vendor approval before the first order. A pharma plant wants your GSTIN, a certificate of analysis for each batch, specifications, often a questionnaire and sometimes an audit of your site. Have them ready before you call. Once approved, suppliers tend to stay.
- Open with something specific. For example: "Good morning sir, I'm Hetal from a Vatva firm that services tablet compression machines on site, usually within 48 hours. Who in engineering looks after machine maintenance at your Changodar plant?" Gujarati, Hindi and English all work; many plant managers come from other states.
- Time it well. Purchase teams keep office hours even when the plant runs shifts; mid-morning works best. Avoid month-end and audit weeks.
- Packaging and labels are a big, recurring spend for formulation makers; our packaging companies guide covers that trade, and our lab equipment suppliers guide covers QC labs.
- Selling medicines rather than to their makers? Then your customers are chemists, hospitals and distributors. See our pharmacy and chemist list guide and hospitals in Ahmedabad.
For other industries in the city, see our list of companies in Ahmedabad, and for the national picture of drug makers, our list of pharma companies in India.
Calling, SMS and email within TRAI's rules
Many small pharma traders and marketing companies give the owner's mobile as the business number. The rules on commercial communication apply to those numbers whichever list they came from:
- DND (NCPR). TRAI's customer preference registration page (checked on 30 October 2026) lets anyone block commercial communication fully or by category (health is one of the eight), by mode (voice call and SMS, auto-dialer and robo calls), by time band and by day, by sending an SMS to or calling 1909, through IVRS, an approved app or an OTP-based web portal. Check numbers before a promotional campaign; our DND check guide shows how.
- DLT for SMS. Promotional and transactional SMS go only through a DLT-registered sender, with a registered header and content templates. Our DLT registration guide explains the steps.
- Consent for follow-ups. On the first call, ask how the company wants your catalogue or quotation (email, WhatsApp or SMS), note the answer and the date, and stop when someone says no.
- Email. Send from your own domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up (see our SPF, DKIM and DMARC guide), write to the department you want, and offer an easy opt-out. For how the new data protection law fits, see our guide to the DPDP Act for B2B sales.

Questions people ask
Which are the top pharma companies in Ahmedabad?
The pages that rank for this search name the same large groups again and again, including Zydus Lifesciences, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Intas Pharmaceuticals and Cadila Pharmaceuticals, and Concord Biotech, whose corporate office is on S.G. Highway. "Top" depends on what you measure (sales, exports, employees, plants), so use annual reports for rankings. For selling, the mid-sized and small units in the GIDC estates are often the better first calls: there are many more of them, and the owner is easier to reach.
Is there a list of pharma companies in Ahmedabad with contact numbers?
Not a complete one. Starleads' pharma list has 50 Ahmedabad rows; adding the pharma categories of the Ahmedabad exporters list (121 rows), the chemicals list and the purchase heads list gives a much wider file. Every list has a free 60-row sample, so check it before you buy.
How many pharma companies are there in Ahmedabad?
No public source gives one reliable figure for the city. The Gujarat FDCA's commissioner put the state's drug manufacturers using its licensing app at over 6,000 in a 2024 interview, but that figure is for the whole state, not the city. Starleads' own counts (50 in the pharma list, 121 in the exporters list's pharma categories) are counts of contacts in its data, not a census.
Where are pharma companies located in Ahmedabad?
Corporate offices are along S.G. Highway (Thaltej, Bodakdev, Iscon Cross Road). Plants are in Vatva, Naroda and Odhav GIDC in the east, in Changodar, Sanand and Moraiya to the south-west, and along the Sarkhej-Dholka road towards Dholka.
Is there a list of pharmaceutical companies in Ahmedabad as a PDF?
Free PDFs online are usually old trade directories; check the date before you rely on one. Each Starleads list page has a free 60-row sample as a PDF or Excel file with numbers partly masked, and the full list comes as an Excel workbook, which is easier to filter than a PDF.
What are PCD pharma companies in Ahmedabad?
PCD (propaganda cum distribution) companies own brands and sell through franchisees in different areas, usually having the medicines made by a contract (third-party) manufacturer. Many of the pages ranking for "pharma companies in Ahmedabad" are such companies looking for franchisees. If you want one, check its GSTIN, the manufacturer named on the label and the drug licences behind it before you pay any deposit.
Which injectable pharma companies are in Ahmedabad?
Some Ahmedabad companies make injectables, and Starleads' pharma list sample includes one whose products include dry powder injections. No list we know of tags every plant by dosage form, so search company names and websites, and ask on the first call. Injectable plants buy sterile consumables, cleanroom services and specialised packaging, so they are worth finding if that is your trade.
Can I call pharma companies from a purchased list?
Yes, for business calls, within TRAI's rules: check mobile numbers against the NCPR (DND) registry before a promotional call or SMS, identify yourself and your company, call at reasonable hours, and stop when someone asks you to.
